“Iran Classical Tour” has been planned as a two-week tour to suit everyone who would like to learn about Iranian culture, history and architecture in a couple of weeks.

You will also travel to the most famous cities that have played key roles in the formation of Iran’s history and culture. During this period, you will explore the wealth of Iranian ancient civilization and today.

Here’s the route of Iran classical tour:

Tehran – Kashan – Natanz – Nain – Meybod – Yazd – Kerman – Mahan – Rayen – Shiraz – Esfahan – Abyaneh – Qom – Tehran

day 01: Arrival and rest

Arrival in Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA). Meet with Guide. Transfer to hotel for rest.

day 02: Overnight in Tehran and visit:

  • National museum
  • Golestan palace complex
  • Treasury of national jewels or Carpet museum

At the end of the excursion, transfer to hotel.

day 03: Overnight in Kashan

In Tehran, Morning visit to Sa’ad Abad palace compound then drive to Kashan to see:

Drive to Kashan to see:

  • Tabatabaee house
  • Bath house of Sultan Amir Ahmad
  • Ancient City Walls
  • Fin garden

Then transfer to hotel.

day 04: Natanz – Yazd

Drive to Yazd. En route, visit Natanz to see:

  • Sheikh Abdul Samad Shrine (Jame mosque of Natanz)
  • A unique ceramic workshop

Then, proceed to Nain to visit Nain Friday Mosque.

The final stop at Meybod to visit:

  • Narin fortress
  • Meybod caravansary complex (water reservoir, icehouse, traditional mailing house – Chapar Khaneh)
  • A pigeon tower

Transfer to hotel.

day 05: Overnight in Yazd

In Yazd, visit:

  • Tower of Silence
  • Varahram fire temple
  • Yazd Jame mosque
  • Fahadan ancient quarter
  • Dolat Abad garden
  • Bazaar of Yazd
  • Water museum
  • Amir Chaqmaq tekiyeh
  • Ancient City walls

Transfer to hotel.

day 06: Overnight in Kerman

Drive to Kerman. Inside city, visit:

  • Harandy Museum
  • Kerman bazaar including herb shops
  • Ganjali Khan Caravansary
  • Ganjali Khan bathhouse

Transfer to hotel.

day 07: Kerman – Rayen

Inside Kerman, visit:

  • Jame mosque portal
  • An old ice house
  • Jabalieh dome

Drive to Rayen to visit ancient citadel of Rayen.

Drive back toward Kerman. En route, stop at Mahan to visit:

  • Shahzadeh garden
  • Shah Nematollah-e-Valy mausoleum

Transfer to hotel.

day 08: Back to Shiraz

Drive to Shiraz. En route, see:

  • Neyriz Salt Lake
  • Fig tree gardens
  • Maharloo Salt Lake

En route, visit Sassanian Hunting lodge of Bahram then transfer to hotel.

day 09: Overnight in Shiraz.

In Shiraz, visit:

  •  Nasir al-Mulk Mosque
  • Narenjestan garden
  • Ali-Ibn-Hamzeh shrine
  • Karimkhani citadel
  • Pars museum
  • Vakil mosque
  • Bazaar of Shiraz including Saraye Moshir
  • A tour of the city of Shiraz

Transfer to hotel.

day 10: Outside Shiraz.

Drive outside Shiraz to visit:

  • Persepolis
  • Naqsh-e-Rostam
  • Gate of Koran

Back to Shiraz to visit:

  • Tomb of Sa’dy
  • Tomb of Hafez

Transfer to hotel.

day 11: Shiraz – Isfahan

Drive to Isfahan. En route, visit Pasargadae including Tomb of Cyrus the Great then, proceed toward Isfahan and stop at Izadkhast to visit:

  • A Safavid caravansary
  • Remnants of Izadkhast village

Inside Isfahan we take a walking tour along the city river and visit:

  • Si-o-Se Pol (Allahverdikhan) Bridge
  • Khajoo bridge

Transfer to hotel.

day 12: Isfahan

Inside Isfahan to visit:

  • Chehelsotun palace
  • Meidan-e-Emam (Naqsh-e-Jahan Square)
  • Emam Khomeini mosque
  • Sheikh Lotfollah mosque
  • Ali Qapu palace
  • Qeysariyeh bazaar
  • Handicraft workshops

Transfer to hotel.

day 13: Isfahan

Inside Esfehan, visit:

  • Vank cathedral
  • Jolfa Armenian quarter
  • Jame Mosque
  • Walking tour of riverside or Emam Square

Transfer to hotel.

day 14: Back to Tehran

Drive to Tehran via Abyaneh & Qom. At Abyaneh we will take a walking tour.

Proceed to Qom to visit:

  • Masumeh’s Shrine
  • A short excursion around Qom

Proceed to Tehran. Transfer to hotel to pack up for departure.

day 15: Transfer to Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA). Fly out.

Day 1: 

The group will arrive from London to Iran.
Transfer from Airport to the Hotel: Evin

Day 2: 

  • Morning visit to Tehran: Archeological, Crystal, Reza Abbasi Museum.
  • Lunch in a local traditional Restaurant.
  • continue the visit
  • Dinner at 18:30 hrs. before going to the airport. The time will be set when the group arrives.
  • Flight Tehran – Shiraz : approximately 20:00 – 21:00
  • Arrival to the hotel Aryo Barzan

Reza Abbasi Museum

Reza Abbasi Museum was opened in 1356 S.H. in front of Electronic College of Khaje Nasir Toosi University and it was named Reza Abbasi in memory of the famous Kashan painter. 

Approximately 50000 items are kept in this museum. The building has three stories that the visitor movement has been planned to start from the third floor downward. The materials kept in the museum are exhibited in five halls: pre-history hall (the third floor); Islamic art halls 1 & 2 (the second floor); Miniature hall (the first floor); calligraphy hall (the first floor); and a hall for temporary exhibitions (the ground floor). The items here are exhibited chronologically in such a way that the visitors can follow the evolution process of Persian art, civilization and culture; this installation style is unique among other Iran museums.

Day 3: 

  • After Breakfast, visit to Perspolice and Naghshe Rostam.
  • Lunch in Laneh Tavoos.
  • Return back to Shiraz, visit Hafez & Sadi, Bazaar of Shiraz.

Day 4:  

  • After Breakfast, check out to drive to city of Yazd. Visit old part of the city time permitting. Lunch and dinner will be in a local restaurant.
  • Hotel: Moshir al Mamalek garden hotel or Dad hotel

Day 5:

  • After Breakfast, Check out and after visiting the city drive towards Isfahan.
  • Hotel: Safir 4* or Abbassy 5*

Day 6: 

  • After Breakfast, visit the city of Isfahan: Alighapou palace, Chel sotun palace. Sheikh Lotfollah mosque, Imam Square, Vank Cathedral, Jame mosque. Old bridges of Esfahan.
  • Lunch and dinner will be in a local restaurant.
  • Back to hotel

Day 7: The group will arrive from Kashan to the IBIS hotel at the airport and stay for a few hours before going to check out 3hrs before the flight & into the flight at 07:00 am.

Armenia Section: At this point the group will enter Armenia

Day 8: City Tour

  • The group will arrive to the hotel & Check in! Depends on the time of arrival to the hotel the visiting will be arranged.
  • Morning tour by bus in Yerevan: Republic Square, Vernisazh handmade items market, North Avenue, Cascade, Park of Victory (Statue of Mother Armenia).

Republic Square 

Is the center of the city, where singing fountains are located. Here visitors of Yerevan can enjoy fountain show accompanied with world-known music every evening.

North Avenue 

Is the modern heart of Yerevan, where restaurants, brand shops and boutiques are located.

Cascade

Is architectural area from 20th century, where private exhibition of Cafes Jian can be found open-air and in museum side.

  • Tour to Tsaghkadzor, Kecharis Monastery, Lake Sevan, Sevanavank.

Tsaghkadzor 

Is a paradise for skiers, who come here especially to taste the drive, going down the magnificent mountain slopes. Pistes for all levels of complexity start from the Teghenis top, where you get by means of modern rope-way quick as a wink.

Kecharis Monastery

The religious and cultural center of Tsaghkadzor is the Monastery Complex of Kecharis, which was completely reconstructed in 2001. This place is loved not only by natives but also by tourists. Kecharis monastery, is located 60 km from Yerevan in the ski resort town of Tsaghkadzor. Kecharis is a group of 4 churches, and it is one of the well-preserved medieval architectural samples of the Armenian Highland. It founded by Pahlavuni prince in honor of Gregory the Illuminator in 1033 in the 11th century, and construction continued until the middle of the 13th century.

Lake Sevan 

Is not only one of the largest lakes in Armenia and the Caucasus region but also one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world. It is situated in the central part of the Republic of Armenia inside the Gegharkunik Province, at the altitude of 1,900m above sea level. The total surface area of its basin is about 5,000 km2. Out of the three great lakes of the historical Armenian Kingdom, Sevan is the only one that remains within the boundaries of modern Armenia.

Sevanavank 

Is a monastic complex located on a peninsula at the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, not far from the town of Sevan. The monastery was founded in 874 by King Ashot I, the first king of the Bagratid kingdom, and his daughter Mariam. Two churches remain, St. Arakelots and Astvatsatsin. The island monastery was, according to historians of the time, used both for worship and pilgrimage.

Day 9: Tour to Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery

The Temple of Garni is one of the oldest sights in Armenia. The structures of Garni combine elements of Hellenistic and national culture. The temple is in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. 

The bath-house 

is situated in the northern part of the square. The most interesting part of the bath building is the mosaic dating back to the third century. It is made of natural stones featuring 15 various color. It has 4 rooms – dressing room, cold water bath, warm room, hot water room. 

The monastery of Geghard 

is a unique architectural construction in the Kotayk province of Armenia. The Monastery founded by Gregory the Illuminator. The Monastery is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today Geghard monastery is one of the most popular places in Armenia.

Day 10: Visit Etchmiadzin Mother Cathedral, Museum Treasures of Echmiatsin, Gayane and Hripsime churches, return to Yerevan.

Etchmiadzin is one of the historic capitals of Armenia and the main religious center of the Armenian people with the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the most important Armenian Apostolic church, located in the city.

Hripsime Church

Saint Hripsime Church is one  of the oldest surviving churches in Armenia. The church was erected by Catholicos Komitas atop the original mausoleum built by Catholicos Sahak the Great in 395 AD that contained the remains of the martyred Saint Hripsime to whom the church was dedicated. The structure was completed in 618 AD. It is known for its fine Armenian-style architecture of the classical period, which has influenced many other Armenian churches since. This church together with other nearby sites is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 11: Visit Tatev Monastery and the ropeway, Devil’s bridge, departure

Tatev (ropeway)

Tatev Gateway, home of the world’s longest non-stop reversible aerial tramway, an unforgettable route to Armenia’s medieval Tatev Monastery built in the 9th century. The tramway was opened on October 16, 2010. Just days later it was recorded in the Guinness World Records Book as the world’s longest non-stop reversible aerial tramway with a length of 5,752 meters.

Devil’s bridge

It is a natural wonder of petrified lava, carved out and polished by water and wind over thousands of years. The width of this natural bridge to Tatev Monastery is 60 meters, and the length is 30 meters. Not far from the bridge you can take a bath in the curing waters of local hot springs surrounded by brilliantly colored stalactites.

Day 12: Free Day

Day 13: Flight of Mahan Air – Departure Armenia – Tehran 13:00 flight Arrival : 16 :00 approximately Transfer to the hotel Evin .

Day 14: Early morning check out to the airport 3 hours before the flight.
